The year 2011 was a year filled with change. The life that I knew suddenly become a life of chaos with a new adventure lying a head of me and my family. The year started out with a move from Texas to California, a job change for Tony, and new schools for the kids. We were forced to find a new church and new friends, as well as a new home. We no longer lived in the land of "familiar."
Jesus tells us in his word that His ways are not Our ways....I suppose that verse became a reality to me because I was sure, while living and serving God in Texas, was exactly where God wanted me and my family to be. Suddenly, with hardly a warning, I was placed in a new mission field, in a small town in California.
Jesus also tells us in his word that we are to Trust Him, have Faith, and Follow Him. Satan attacked me with depression, but I tried hard to keep my focus on God's plan. And as a result, my family and I found a wonderful church; a new home; and some fantastic new friends.
Not long after the move, God began to revel his plans for me. The plan started out with a shoe drive for the Shoeman Water Project and a secured ticket for a mission trip to Kenya in January 2012.
I am excited to see what the rest of God's plans are for my life as the year 2012 unfolds.
"The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9
"Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will make a roadway in the wilderness rivers in the deserts."
Isaiah 43:18-19
