Jambo from Kenya!

So much for doing a daily blog....we have not had access to Internet until today!  Here is a fast review of the past week:

We arrived to Nairobi on Wednesday at 2:00 in the morning.  The flight was so long and we only enjoyed a few short hours of Tuesday while waiting in the Istanbul, Turkey airport!  I am not looking forward to the flight home at all.

At breakfast later that morning, we met George, the Shoeman and the rest of the team.  It was nice meeting them all and chatting with them.
This is just a pic of some of the shoeman Water Project Group

Joy in the yellow and Mary wearing white were our guides for the day.  Love these 2 ladies!

I was very excited to be able to meet up with my friend from Peru, Manny.  We were not that far from each other.  We spent the day at the Bomas of Kenya.  There are 43 different tribes in Kenya.  Here is where we were able to see different tribal dances and customs then took a tour of what their villages looked like in the past.
Me and Manny!  (FYI...I am going on a diet when I get home..LOL)

After spending the afternoon there, we went to eat dinner at "The Viking" restaurant (it was actually a Brazilian restaurant...go figure!)  It was interesting.  I tried crocodile for the first time.  It was tough and tasted like chicken!

Thursday morning I woke up very sick and was not looking forward to the travel ahead to Pastor Shems home an hour and half away.  The ride was hot and the roads were extremely bumpy.  It is like doing "off road" driving in Kenya.  Pastor Shem swerved around very large potholes, bounced over rocks, slowly drove over dirt hills and speed bumps that are randomly placed on the roads.  Needless to say, a stop along side of the road was a must for me!

We passed several Tea Plantations on our way to
Githunguri where Pastor Shem lives

I am stopping here for now.  I will post more tomorrow!
