Be Still!

I opened my devotion to read this evening, and the very first sentence reads: "I am preparing you for what is on the road ahead, just around the bend.  Take time to be still in My Presence so that I can strengthen you."

"I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."  John 15:5

"For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light."  Psalms 36:9

Worship!

Luke 1:78-79
because of the tender mercy of our God, with which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, TO SHINE UPON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH, To guide our feet into the way of peace."

Psalms 95:6-8
"Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.  For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.  Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts....."

"Praise and worship are the best responses to the wonder of My Being.  Sing praises to My holy Name.  Gaze at Me in silent adoration.  Look for a star of guidance in your own life, and be willing to follow wherever I lead.  I am the light from on high that dawns upon you, to guide your feet into the way of Peace."  by Sarah Young in Jesus Calling

This Christmas season, let's not forget to worship our Lord Jesus Christ!  He gave us his life, let's give Him our hearts!

No Worries!

Time is going by so fast, before I know it, I will be on a plane heading to Kenya.  But for now there are still a few preparations that still need to be made!

The other day, I received an email from Shem, the gentleman that is making the arrangements for me and my dad's speaking engagements.  In his email, he stated that all plans have been made and told me that I would be speaking to the women and to the pastor's wives.  Don't ask why, but I started freaking out for a moment wondering if my lessons were going to be good enough for the pastor's wives.  Silly of me thinking that, since the lessons that I prepared were the ones that God laid on my heart.  By the way, speaking in front of a large audience of people that I don't know is very intimidating for me!

I do love how God speaks to me.  He always tells me exactly what it is I need to hear at just the right time.  These are the words that He spoke to me during my devotion time shortly after reading the email:

"The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.  He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned."   Isaiah 50:4

"For the Lord God will help me; therefore I will not be discouraged."   Isaiah 50:7

Praise God I will not be going alone to speak to these ladies!  God will give me the exact words to say at just the right time, so I have no need to be worry or be afraid no matter how large or small the group or who is in the group.

"Father God, Thank you dor always be there!  Thank you for your comforting words.  Lord, it is my desired that every word that comes out of my mouth are not My spoken words, but the words that breathed out by your Holy Spirit.  I pray that each lady and girl will feel your presence and in some ways, your presense will change lives!:  I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Savior and King   Amen

The Lord God is in Your Midst....

For a long as I can remember, I have worked with children in chruch.  I have worked as a Sunday school teacher, VBS director, Children's Church Director and with the Wednesday night children's programs.  Working with children is my "Comfort Zone."

A couple of years ago, God called me out of my comfort zone and into a world of discomfort, my new ministry is in missions; not as a missionary to a foreign land, but to be on Mission with God right where I am.  God had opened an opportunity for me to go on mission to Lima, Peru and now to go on mission to a land where I have always wanted to go every since I can remember.  I will be going to Kenya, Africa in January!

Every since I got the word that I would be going to Kenya, Satan has attacked me in so many ways, it has been hard at times to keep my eyes focused on God and the plan laid before me. I know however, that in this trying time, that God is still present.  I can see glimpses of Him through a song, bible verse, sermon or in conversation with a friend.  I will be victorious over Satan's schemes, why?  Because I have Jesus on my side.  I ran across this verse the other day that gave me a lot of comfort:

Zeph 3:17
"The Lord your God is in your midst,
A victorious warrior.
He will exult over you with joy,
He will be quiet in His love,
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
NASU

During the trying times of our lives, during our sadness, heartaches, illness, loss and even in our victories....God is always there.  He is with us.  He rejoices with us when we are happy and he quietly wraps His arms around us when we are sad.  It is comforting to know that  no matter where I am in life or what I am doing....God is right with me and will never leave my side....
